A feminine hygiene pad comprising a topsheet comprising a first fibrous nonwoven web, a backsheet, and an absorbent structure comprising one or more layers including a heterogeneous mass layer comprising a combination of one or more discrete pieces of open cell foam and a second fibrous nonwoven web, wherein the one or more discrete pieces of open cell foam enrobe fibers of the second fibrous nonwoven web; and wherein fibers of the first nonwoven web are incorporated into the heterogeneous mass such that fibers of the first nonwoven web and the heterogeneous mass occupy the same X-Y plane, wherein the open cell foam comprises polyurethane foam or HIPE foam.
